Article Marketing is useful for direct qualified traffic to your Website

Best practices SEO Tips by Pieter Gussenhoven

Article marketing has a more direct impact to the traffic that lands on your website than SEO. That is a fact. How many visitors do you get to your website? Hundreds every day? If so, then you must be in the top 10 results on Google for your keyword on at least one of your pages.
The vast majority of people gets nowhere and gives up before giving themselves a chance, simply because they rely on organic search engine listings for traffic. Even their blogs get few visitors - if they get any. If that is you, then there is way out of this, and an easy way to get masses of visitors without having to rely on search engines. Article marketing.

This applies to the following forms of web page:

 Traditional website pages
 Blogs
 Squidoo lenses
 Facebook pages
 Myspace pages
 Any other online page that can be accessed via a URL or web address

If you have a need for visitors to any of these pages that you run or own, then Article Marketing is your answer. You can forget search engine optimization and trying to get your web page seen on other blogs or forums. You should write articles or have them written for you. Website traffic is so easy to get using article marketing.

Many different people use articles in many different ways to promote their products, services, websites, blogs, lenses and WEB2 pages, and from the amount of money that many of them pay me to write literally dozens and dozens of articles, they are doing very well from it.

Their pages are not listed in the top 100 pages on Google for their keywords, let alone the top 10, yet they make masses of money from their sites. Why? Because they get traffic from their articles. How do they get that traffic? Forget the lies and the hype. Here is the truth of the matter.

Readers

People read articles on article directories. If you write an article, or pay to have them written, and then submĂt them to directories, then they will be read by visitors to these directories. There are read ignorant people that write that nobody reads articles on article directories, but they are talking nonsense. People do read them!!
After publishing articles we get an average of about 150 website referral visits per month, resulting in more online-business. We only submit really worthwhile news facts to sites like PR-web.com:

Adding an XML sitemap will definitely help search engines to crawl your website faster and more effective

Best practices SEO Tips by Pieter Gussenhoven

2. See how powerful a site map can truly be!

Page rank is relative and shared throughout a website by a unique and democratic voting system created by Google. I could spend hours trying to explain how Page rank works, but what it comes down to is having efficient and easy access navigation throughout your site. That is where a site map page comes in. Since every page on the website will be linked directly to the site map, it allows web crawlers (and internet users) to quickly and easily find content.

So, by placing a sitemap file on your website, you enable Google and other search engines to find out what pages are present, which have recently changed and have them spider your website accordingly. Using site maps allow you to inform and direct Google and other search engines like Yahoo and MSN Live Search what content you have available on your Website.

An example:

A site map helps to dig up deep content on websites: It used to take 4 clicks to get to a product page at www.questinc.com. By creating a site map, users and search engines can now access any page on the site with only 2 clicks. The Page rank from these deep pages went from 0 to 2 in about 3 months and the ranking went from virtually not existent to number 1 almost across the board for nearly 2,000 pages on their site!

So, how to add a site map to my website?

4 easy steps to get it done on www.xml-sitemaps.com/

1. Enter your full website URL and some optional parameters in the form;

2. Press 'Start' button and wait until the site is completely crawled (the progress will be indicated);

3. You will see the generated sitemap details page, including number of pages, broken links list, XML file content and link to a compressed sitemap. Download the sitemap file using this link and put it into the "public_html/" folder of your site;

4. Go to your Google Webmaster account and add your sitemap URL. Please check About Sitemaps for more details.

Good luck!

Best practices SEO Tips: meta tags

Best practices SEO Tips by Pieter Gussenhoven

1. Meta title- and description tags

This article will be the first of various SEO tips that will help to improve your website position and competitiveness. Each search engine optimization tip will be very specific, should not take a long time to fix (or just to check to see if you are following the search engine optimization best practices), and will be rather "short and sweet" and directly to the point.

What are meta tags, why do they serve for your website traceability in search engines and what is the best way to write them?

Most ´SEO sensible´ are the title and the description meta tags. The title tag represents the title of your website and shows up in the purple underlined search results in Google. The description tag is the black text that appears under beneath the title tag.

There are several reasons why you need to pay attention to your meta tags. One of the most important reasons is that (based on the keyword used in a search query) the title meta tag can show up in the actual search engine result. The meta description tag can also show up in the search results, so writing a good meta description tag is not only good for search engine optimization-it is a way to convince searchers to visit your web site.

An example:

In this case, you can see that the meta description tag that was used on the website shows up in the search results in Google because the keyword combination I used to search is located in the meta description tag (I searched for "creative outsourcing"). If you include your keyword combination then there's a good chance that it will show up in the search results.

In the sample above, this is the meta description tag:

Connaxis Creative Outsourcing provides quality Website Development, Internet Marketing SEO and Multilingual Support - Call us:+16468108783. This meta description tag is well written because it's fairly short, to-the-point, uniquely describes the content of the page where it's found, includes the keyword phrase "creative outsourcing" and a phone number for contact. Skype users will be able to contact our company with just one click.

A title tag should not be longer than 60 characters, for the description tag this number is approximately 150. If you make the tags longer, they will be cut off in the middle of a phrase which of course is not desirable.

When you write your meta tags, for search engine optimization purposes it's good to make sure that you include the keywords that you are targeting on the page. It is important that the meta title and meta description be concise and to-the-point. You will want your meta description tag to accurately describe the content of the page where it appears. So, it also must be unique. Don't use the same meta description tag on every page of your site. After all, each page on yo
ur web site is unique, right?

Connaxis Creative Outsourcing helps your company to stay cost-effective with Adwords

Stay competitive with Connaxis!

Google has activated a system that penalizes Adwords-advertising owners that have slowly loading websites. The company wants to prevent fast visitor drop-outs that cause a decrease in earnings for webmasters and Google itself. Connaxis Creative Outsourcing solutions anticipated on these announcements and accelerated its download times with more than 60%!

In March of this year, Google announced that loading times of landing-pages will be taken into account for its advertisement rates. According to Google, there are two reasons for introducing this penalty system. First, end users that have to wait too long before seeing an advertisement would click away too soon, causing a possible decrease in earnings for webmasters having placed Adsense-advertisings on their website. Second, the ´positive user experience´ of Adwords-advertisings should loose popularity due to slow and sluggish websites. This possibly results in fewer clicks of end-users on Adsense-links.

Google states that they check website loading times of its Adwords-users on a regular basis. Currently, the score for download velocities is calculated based on an average, taking as principle the time that is needed to download the html-code of an entire webpage. In the future, Google also wants to take into account loading times for images, video, flash-objects and java script codes for their calculations. Though, it is not known yet when the search engine giant wants to make this step.

The final ´Quality Score´ can be requested by using the Management Tool in Adwords. Users that receive a low score will have lower advertisement positions, resulting in fewer clicks. In addition, the advertiser will have to pay more.

Connaxis Creative Outsourcing has anticipated quickly on these Google announcements. Connaxis now uses a faster server with more resources, no shared hosting and less server load. A server speed-up was gained by streamlining the server environment (i.e. only enable what you really need, including minor tweaks as disabling Apache .htaccess lookups on each request). Instead of using the slow traditional CGI between our Radiant CMS (Ruby) and the Apache web server, we are now using FastCGI, which has less overhead per HTTP request. An additional decrease in download times was achieved by enabling HTTP compression (GZIP) for HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. This has resulted in an overall 60% improvement in loading times!

http://www.connaxis.com/en/news/www-yourcompanyname-com-what-is-it-worth-and-how-to-increase-its-value/

December 18, 2007 Like real estate or a company a website has a certain value. In real estate the value depends on the location; size and quality of the property. The value of a company is measured by its earning power. The profit generated by a company jointly with its growth perspective. However on the internet space is unlimited; competition is worldwide and entry barriers are low. Your competition is only one click away. So you might wonder; what is the value of my online property and how can I increase its value. Luckily, common rules of the game still apply:-

  1. What is your online strategy?
  2. What is your online location?
  3. What about your online infrastructure?
  4. Are you making more or less money online compared to the competition?

At Connaxis we have just launched our new and improved website; Connaxis Version 2.0 (www.connaxis.com). In this new version we are improving on the points we will discuss here below. What can you do to increase the value of our Online Property?

1. Make sure that you have a winning online strategy

You need a solid strategy so that potential customers will buy from you and not from the competition. You are either cheaper; more specialized; have more depth; or you provide some special added value making it worthwhile for customers to buy from you. At Connaxis we initially follow a penetration strategy. Our clients are located in the developed world and we work from a cost base of a world in development. Over the years we have aimed to dominate the field of Creative Outsourcing. We will be able to do so because Connaxis has a comparative advantage. Argentina is full of very creative and highly educated people. Argentineans are creative by nature. They have the fine taste that is very much appreciated in Europe. They are born with it. Something you will not find in India or China.

2. Location; location; location

Next you have to make sure that your site becomes a triple A location. You need to make sure you have more qualified traffic then your competitors. Next to paid promotion of your website, online (Search Engine Advertising) and offline, you should also make sure your website can be found organically via Search Engines. Your website should be optimized for Search Engines (Search Engine Optimalization). Your site:-

  • Should contain the correct keywords so that people that look for your services using a search engine can find you.
  • Be accessible to Search Engines Spiders, so that your services can be indexed via Google.
  • Should have incoming links from websites with a high page rank.

Connaxis Version 2.0 is completely optimized per service offering. Every service has its own landing page. We have defined the market of each service offer and compared our keywords with the keywords of the top 10 competitors in that field. Besides, we have developed an inbound link strategy to get websites with a high page rank to link to us. The website does not work with tables but is completely set up using XHTML; CSS and .div’s so that Search Engine Spiders can easily read the website. Finally our URL’s do not look like programming code.

Example:-

Please type 'Creative Outsourcing' in http://www.google.com/ (First Page Ranking!)

Or type 'Outsource Argentina' in http://www.google.com/ (First Page Ranking!)

3. Choice of Technology + Design + Online Functionality = Success

So now you have defined a winning online strategy and you are generating more traffic to your site then the competition! Good start but you are far from ready. Now you compare your design, the technology you use and your functionality with that of your direct competition. Is your design friendly, inviting, intuitive? Does the technology you use allow you to incorporate new features easily and cheaply? How quickly do the pages load? And do you provide your customers with easy and straightforward tools to help them make informed buying decisions? How do you compare to the competition on these points? Are you worst in class or the best? Better be the best. At Connaxis we have continued to build and improve on our house style which we appreciate enormously. We have included a Content Management System based on Ruby on Rails; a new and exciting programming language. This allows us to update the different information sections (News; Case Studies; Testimonials) on the fly. We have also added various contact features using AJAX; Contact; Tell a Friend and Sign up for our Newsletter.

4. How to calculate the value of your online property?

Now it can still happen that you have gone through the first three steps and everyone is watching but nobody is buying. You need to convert prospects to clients. When you can increase your conversion of your website it will have a higher value. You need to figure out how to entice people to buy. You can make different landing pages per service offering and see which one works best. You can add a time limited offer to get people to decide now. Anything is allowed as long as you beat the competition. Now, how do you calculate the value of your site? Let’s say you have 4 requests per month over the course of 2007. From these requests you convert an average of 2 requests. Every conversion has a net worth of Euro 250 (Income -/- Total Costs). In 2007 your site was Euro 6000 (12 * 2 * Euro 250) worth. Now let’s assume you can increase the amount of requests to 14 per month whereas the conversion stays the same at 50 %, meaning 7 sales. So over 2008 your website is Euro 21000 worth. An increase of Euro 15000! I wish my offline property would rise in value at this speed! At Connaxis we have experienced great ROI on our website. Many customers admire the design of our website. The quality of our site makes that they rely on us for outsourcing their work. In the last quarter we have signed up several new clients. We would never have found these companies was it not for Google Adwords that allowed these clients to find us. As you can imagine these deals increased substantially the value of our property, the Connaxis website. Where will the value of our website be in 5 years from now? If we can ‘Stay Competitive’, if we can beat the competition, the sky can be the limit. Not only for us but also for you! We know what to do and have all the specialists in house to increase the value of your online property. Please contact us via the web form on our site and we will start helping you right away to beat your online competition and to increase the value of your website. Stay competitive with Connaxis!
